Tempura Asparagus
Here at Aqua Terra, Ken and Di are balancing the chilly rainy days and the unexpectedly hot days with a yin and yang offering of small plates.
For those clear brisk (or gray dank) spring days that leave you with a slight chill, the chefs at Aqua Terra have created new Asian Poppers. These spring rolls are filled with gratifyingly rich combinations, fried, and then sliced into bite-sized poppers. The combinations of scallops and bacon, shrimp and ham or chicken and bacon are paired with cream cheese, green onion and siracha sauce. These hip little bites of comfort food pack a tasty zing, somehow making you grateful for wandering out on those spring days that just aren’t quite warm enough.
For those warmer days when something on the lighter side is more appealing, the co-owners have developed a line of “Fushi”: fusion sushi. A mix of cooked and raw ingredients with western and eastern origins, Aqua Terra’s original “Fushi” elevates the concept of sushi to a whole new level of delight. Innovative sweet potato, blackened shrimp, bacon, and blackened steak are partnered in Aqua Terra’s signature rolls with more traditional ingredients like salmon, cucumber, and albacore tuna. The rolls are paired with a delicious variety of sauces, augmenting the traditional tastes of soy sauce and wasabi. The flavors meld on your tongue as beautifully simple and sophisticated as the young bright buds of spring.
For fabulous bites of flavor, these small plates have big tastes.
